Sweet Puff

This super yummy Puff filled with Palm Sugar, yellow Lentil, Coconut and Cardamom is easy to make and a great snack. Traditionally it's covered with Rice flour But I used the ready made puff pastry sheets and its really a big hit.
Palm Sugar - This is a traditional unrefined non-centrifugal sugar used in Indian desserts, specially when the dessert calls for Lentil!
You can substitute with brown Sugar.

Filling:
Yellow Lentil - 1/2 cup cooked
palm Sugar - 1 cup
Coconut shredded - 1/4 cup
Cardamom Powder- 1 pinch
Combine all the mixture together and cook in medium heat for 10 mins without adding water.

Preparation:
Cut the pastry sheet in to small squares , keep the filling in the centre and seal the ends with water.
Pre-heat the oven to 375F and bake it for 20 mins.
Melt any chocolate and give some stripes on top of it :)

  9. You have really opened my eyes to using some different ingredients for sweets (like lentils). I've been eating sweet red bean since I was a baby and have never really been exposed to some of the combinations you use. Thank you!
